Once again we sponsored the Tom Jones Memorial HTJ Centre Ltd Novices Steeplechase Feature Race at Huntingdon on 8th November 2011.

Aptly the winner and second were both trained by HTJ Centre Ltd. clients Paul Webber and Charlie Mann respectively.

The race was won impressively by Australia Day ridden by Denis O'Regan.Eventually he ran out the ten length winner but not before the partnership made an amazing recovery at the first open ditch. A bold leap was followed by a slip both in front and behind, but despite this, Australia Day was quickly back on his feet and his jockey had hardly moved an inch out of the plate!
It was definitely ride of the week if not the year!

We welcomed many clients, racing personalities and owners to our hospitality box by the winning post during the day. These included, as well as the above, leading trainer Jonjo O'Neill also an HTJ Centre Ltd client, ex jockeys Steve Smith-Eccles and Ian Watkinson who were both former stable jockeys for Tom Jones and rode and won on the spectacular Tingle Creek who still holds the two mile steeplechase track record at Sandown.

Point to pointing was well represented too, with fabled multi-winning jockeys David Claydon, John Sharp and Paul Hacking all in attendance not to mention the 100% winning p-to-p record rider and youngest winner of the oldest and longest race in flat racing, the Newmarket Town Plate, Di Haine.

We look forward to welcoming any of our clients again next year after such a successful day.

Quote of the Day
